About this event

The Annual Meeting will feature keynote speaker Dave Celino, the Chief Fire Warden for Massachusetts. Dave will talk about the 2020 fire season, which has been very active due to drought conditions, and discuss the effects of fire on the landscape and the use of prescribed fire to create habitat.

Marianne Piche and Patrick Conlin from MassWildlife will also present on the new Massachusetts Collaborative for Private Forestland Regional Conservation Partnership Program for private forestland owners, which is a joint MFA/MassWildlife effort. This grant program will help landowners create wildlife habitat on their woodlands. Join us to learn more details about this exciting new program!

We'll also present our annual Douglas B. Cook Wood Producer of the Year Award and the Howard F. Mason Forester of the Year Award to very deserving recipients. And we'll have a short business meeting to elect new board members.

The Annual Meeting is completely free, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Farm Credit East, and we ask that you register, as space is limited.

The Annual Meeting has been approved for the following continuing education credits:

  • 2.0 Massachusetts Timber Harvester Credits
  • 1.25 Massachusetts Forester Credits in Category I
  • 1.0 Connecticut Forester CEUs
  • SAF credits are pending
